Live Bus Occupancy Information for Covid-19 Safe Operations
Trapeze has recently supported Traveline Scotland with new functionality enabling the display of live bus occupancy information. This is now live via Traveline Scotland’s website and app – check out the video below to see how it looks:
Want to publish live occupancy data in your region?
This functionality, developed in response to Covid-19 and the requirement to manage social distancing, is designed to increase safe base travel and to increase public confidence in buses by enabling passengers to check how many seats are available when planning a journey. The occupancy information can also be sent to roadside digital displays and other outputs.
This is the first part of a phased roll out which aims to cover the whole of Scotland in the coming months. John Elliot, Chief Executive of Traveline Scotland, said: “This will be a very real benefit for those who use or intend to use buses and will help them to travel safely.”
Excitingly for other Trapeze customers, this technology has been designed in such a way as to be easily expandable and replicable in other parts of the UK.
